Life throws a lot of twists, turns and roadblocks our way — give yourself a break and make sure you’re prepared. Your safety depends on reliable brakes. Brake pads eventually wear down and need to be replaced, usually between 25,000 and 45,000 miles for cars, and 20,000 and 30,000 for trucks.
What to expect
Our brake check includes a thorough examination of all brake system components, including the brake pads or shoes, rotors or drums, calipers, and brake lines. With disc brakes, brake pads line the calipers, which act as clamps on the disk-like rotors to stop your vehicle.
Our technicians can “turn” or resurface most rotors at least once, to eliminate brake pulsations or shaking, but it can be more cost-effective to replace the rotors.
